Today Tesla announced their fastest car ever, and according to them, the fastest production car ever at that, the Model S P100D. With upgrades to both acceleration and distance per charge, the P100D is a marked improvement from the P90D. The previous model rocketed from 0-60mph in a blistering 2.9 seconds which has been quickened to a lightning fast 2.5 second 0-60. Mileage has been extended to over 300 miles on a single charge, giving the P100D the longest all electric range of any production vehicle in addition to its newfound performance.
In addition to the Model S P100D, Tesla also announced there will be a Model X P100D, which is the infamously falcon-door adorned SUV from the automaker, which will now boast a 0-60 speed of just under 3.0 seconds. The Model X will also include an upgraded mileage of around 290.
The Model S P100D will have a base price of $134,500 dollars, but customers who have already ordered a P90D Ludicrous and are awaiting delivery can simply upgrade their order for $10,000 and existing owners can upgrade for $20,000.
