California Mitsubishi dealer, South Coast Mitsubishi, recently listed a brand new, never titled, 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX with only 9 miles on the odometer, on eBay.
As of 3:30 p.m. central time, with 36 bids, the going price was at nearly $99,000. As of 8:20 a.m. central time, with 80 bids, the going price is now up to $137,954! The Evo in question is an MR, which sports such features as Brembo brakes, Bilstein suspension, and BBS wheels as well as a six-speed manual transmission vs the much more common five-speed. As an additional add-on, the dealer ordered the Evo with the optional “no-lift” package which adds a few more aero goodies. You can see the breakdown, below.
While the price of the Evo seems ridiculous to most, about 13 eBay bidders would disagree with you.
For those of you who may not recall, the original MSRP of this car was in the $35-40,000 range in 2006, so to have it nearly triple in such a short time is a testament to the massive and dedicated following the car has developed over the years.
How high do you think the price will go?
